IYLEP


The Iraqi Young Leaders Exchange Program (IYLEP), funded by the U.S. Embassy/Baghdad, and implemented by the Academy for Educational Development (AED), enables 50 highly motivated students from Iraq to attend an intensive academic summer program at a U.S. host university.

GEO

    The VCU Global Education Office strives to promote:

VCU Mass Communications

  The VCU School of Mass Communications prepares effective and skilled communicators through quality instruction, advising and student services, based on real world applications. Through research, professional service and scholarship in applied communications, the School advances the knowledge and practice of a multi-disciplinary and evolving media environment.

Residence Hall

IYLEP students will be housed in RAMZ Hall, an apartment building located just one block from your classroom building and central to many Richmond restaurants and shops!

Students will be assigned a single bedroom in a two bedroom apartment, to include the following amenities:

  • Air-conditioned
  • 24-Hour Security
  • Carpeted and fully furnished apartment, including kitchen with apartment-size appliances (refrigerator, electric range) and breakfast bar and chairs.
  • Living room furnished with love seat, lounge chair, coffee table and end tables.
  • Bedrooms furnished with one twin (36″ x 80″) bed, desk, chair and wardrobe.
  • One bathroom with double sinks
  • TV Lounge on each floor

The Global Education Office (GEO) will provide each student with a set of bed sheets, a blanket, a pillow, and a bath towel.
GEO  will also provide the following items for each IYLEP apartment for participants to share: cooking utensils, pots, pans, plates, cups, silverware, and hairdryers.
